Hello, I'm Libby.
Here I am with my husband, affectionately known as the Italian bloke, and our five Italo-Australian kids. This is one of my favourite photos from our Big Italian Family Holiday back in 2015.
I've been an Italian Language teacher for many years and a Christian for more. A few years ago, I was challenged to consider an authentic Christian vision for language teaching and to explore its implications for the classroom.
Why this blog?
I hope that by sharing what I learnt along the way, you too may be encouraged and inspired to develop a distinctive rationale and pedagogy for language teaching and learning that is:
- Shaped by respect for the other as an image bearer of God;
- Eager to hear the other;
- Driven by love for God and one’s neighbour;
- Preparing students to be blessings as strangers in a foreign land and hospitable to strangers in their homeland.
